Luxury apartment in historic area close to village bars and restaurants.
'Le Petit Refuge Morzine' is one of three newly-converted apartments in this beautiful old farm house, entirely renovated, in a historic area of Morzine. Just a few minutes drive from the centre of Morzine, it’s close enough to the bars and restaurants of Morzine to enjoy great apres-ski, but when you return to this 3 star apartment, you can relax in the indoor jacuzzi or enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains that surround you. It’s also opposite a bakery, so you won’t have far to go for fresh bread and croissants in the morning! The ski bus stops 50m away, giving you access to all the Portes du Soleil resorts in France and Switzerland. Larger groups can rent 'Le Petit Refuge Morzine' with the other apartments in the building - Le Loft (sleeps 12) and La Terrasse (sleeps 10) - and even the luxurious Villa Solaire next door, which sleeps 14.
Cosy apartment with mountains of Scandinavian style.
Completely renovated for winter 2013/14, the owner chose a bright and light Scandinavian style for 'Le Petit Refuge Morzine', which is on the middle floor of the farmhouse and sleeps 7. The open plan living area has a cosy wood-burning stove, and cosy sofas around the television. A large dining table is big enough for everyone to eat together, and the kitchen, although compact, is very well equipped. There are three en suite bedrooms, with two double beds and three singles, and a separate toilet. The living room has access to a balcony, from which you can enjoy beautiful mountain views. On the ground floor, there's a shared ski store and laundry, as well as the Jacuzzi and sauna - a great place to relax after an energetic day in the mountains.
A winter sporting paradise starts just minutes from your apartment.
Morzine is in the centre of the Portes du Soleil, making the neighbouring resorts of Les Gets and Avoriaz easily accessible. You can also ski in to Switzerland, but be warned, only the most accomplished skiers should tackle the Swiss Wall - a huge mogul field which is classified as an orange route - too hazardous for a black! But with 650km of pistes, there is plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities. The ski bus stops just 50m from 'Le Petit Refuge Morzine', making this luxurious chalet the perfect base to discover the area. If you’re not a skier, Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which are often host to ice hockey matches, and the local cinema often shows films in English. The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area’s frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride. Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park offers a variety of activities for all ages.
Relax or go wild in this fabulous mountain playground.
When the snow melts, the lush green slopes around Morzine become a haven for walkers, mountain bikers and thrill-seekers. The lifts will take you and your bike up the mountains, into the heart of Europe’s biggest mountain biking area. There are a variety of trails, from gentle family rides to the rather more challenging Portes du Soleil circuit, which will take you in to Switzerland and back. Morzine has earned Famille Plus status for its excellent childcare facilities and entertainment - a perfect choice for young families. There are superb water parks in town and in neighbouring Avoriaz, plus two summer sledging runs, while the Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages and abilities. Golfers will find excellent courses in Les Gets and Avoriaz. Other activities include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing and kayaking. You can also take advantage of the Portes du Soleil Multi Pass, offering unrestricted access to the full range of family activities, at an exclusive rate of 2€.
Discover mountain villages and lakeside towns in two countries.
The traditional Savoyarde town of Morzine and the neighbouring resorts of Avoriaz and Les Gets offer plenty of variety for a holiday, whatever the time of year, but if you venture a little further, there’s plenty more to discover. The Portes du Soleil resorts cross the border into Switzerland, giving you two countries and two cultures to experience. It’s just over half an hour’s drive to Lake Geneva, where you can explore lakeside resorts the pretty spa town of Evian-les-Bains, or the beautiful medieval village of Yvoire. You can take also cruise to other lakeside towns such as Lausanne and Montreux. In Chamonix, just an hour’s drive away, you can take a ride on the second-largest cable car in the world, and take in the spectacular views from Mont Blanc. Geneva airport is just over an hour away from 'Le Petit Refuge Morzine', so if you don’t manage to see everything this time, you’ll just have to come back again next year!

We just fell in love with this lovely farm...
“We live in a neighbouring village to Morzine and had been looking for some land on which to build a family sized chalet for some time. One day whilst out walking around the village we came across this lovely red and white farm sporting an impressive carved shield on a wall next to a white ermine skin! We admired the unique character of the building and then continued with our walk and the quest to find our building plot. We were intrigued when visiting Morzine again several weeks later to see a “For Sale” board outside the farm, and so made an appointment to view the farm and just fell in love with the building. It hadn’t been our original intention to buy a property to renovate yet three visits and one negotiation later the farm was ours! We chose to name the property the “Refuge de L’Hermine” [the Ermine’s Refuge] as tribute to the story we were told by a neighbour explaining the history of the shield and the Ermine skin: a white ermine was being chased by hunting dogs and sought refuge in the old farm, where he ended up staying the whole winter at the farm, keeping the owner company. The owner who was a carpenter carved the shield as a souvenir of the winter. We hope that like the Ermine you too will find refuge here, for a few days or more, and we wish to continue in the spirit of the carpenter by offering you hospitality in our much loved chalet. Do have a fabulous stay in the beautiful Alps, The Bordini Family
“A lovely holiday”
We spend a delicious holiday at the Petit Refuge. The apartment is well located and designed with a lot of thought, with every comfort you would expect. Morzine is a charming village which left us with just one request - to come back!

“We'll come back”
It was comfortable and very well appointed. And we would love to return in the future.
The bakery, sausage shop and bio-shop nearby were our favourites shops.
BBC tv reception was great for the children.
Lots of things to do. Multi pass is very good value.

“A royal stay!”
We had a fabulous week in Morzine, particularly because we had fine accommodation in our lovely apartment Le Petit Refuge. Everything was designed for comfort, to look good and for relaxation and everything you need is there, everything has been thought of. It's lovely when you arrive. We were welcomed by Nicolas, who answered all our questions promptly and kindly. We've never been welcomed so well, so thank you to the owner as well as the agency, which was very efficient. And thank you again to Nicolas for his availability and good humour - we'll be back!

We had a very happy holiday in this brilliantly equipped and comfortable apartment. The additional excellent facilities like the drying room & laundry room were very useful. We found the place spotlessly clean and finished to a high standard. Absolutely child friendly - the cot provided was clean & comfortable and the high chair was ideal. It was blissfully quiet and well connected to the resort centre by two bus routes. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks to the really friendly team. PS: Lovely pâtisserie just 2 minute walk away!

“If only we could have stayed longer...”
We had an extraordinary holiday at Le Petit Refuge, a time we wished would never end. The chalet is very well managed and tastefully decorated. We were five adults and a child. The jacuzzi, sauna and the stove were really great to come back to after a day skiing. It's a property which we recommend and which we will book again next time we come to Morzine.

“Tempted to come back in winter!”
The apartment was lovely - beautifully appointed with some luxurious touches and a very well equipped kitchen. It was handy having a bakery across the road too. We appreciated the hot tub after a long mountain walks and were even tempted to light the wood burning stove on wet days. There was plenty of storage and we liked the look of the heated boot room - we are tempted to come back in the winter!

We have just spent a fabulous week in Morzine at the Petit Refuge de l'Hermine. Great accommodation, well equipped with everything you could need, not too far from the centre of town or the lifts for walking and biking trails. Thank you Aurélie, fabulous organisation via email and in person.

“Fabulous week of Easter”
We had a fabulous week of Easter skiing at Le Petit Refuge this Spring. It was ideally located between Les Linderets lifts and the centre of Morzine, making it easy to get around by car. There are plenty of buses too and a bakery on the corner, for those French pains au chocolat. The chalet itself was delightful -- traditional on the outside and really modern on the inside. We all really appreciated the wellness area with the jacuzzi and sauna after a hard day of skiing. All in all, an amazing place. We would definitely book this apartment again.

Good layout, modern but cosy feel to the chalet

At the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Europe's largest skiing area, Morzine offers great winter sports and plenty of summer action. Ski, hike or bike into Switzerland, enjoy great lakeside walks, explore mountain villages or just relax in one of the village's many restaurants or bars. With a superb swimming pool complex, adventure park and a choice of spas, there's always something new to explore.
